Zula Faye Wilkerson

Zula Faye Wilkerson, 72, of Shelbyville, Indiana, passed away Friday,  July 29, 2022 in her home.

  She was born April 9, 1950, to Claude Smothers and Mary (Elliott) Smothers in Shelbyville.

 Faye married James D. Wilkerson on March 1, 1969, and he survives. They spent 53 wonderful years together.

 She is also survived by her children, James Wilkerson II, Jeff Wilkerson (Angel), Brian Wilkerson (Erica), Robert Wilkerson, grandchildren, Brittany Wilkerson, Austin Wilkerson, Dillon Wilkerson, Jimmy Wilkerson, Amithyst Wilkerson, Mekayla Hammonds, Morgan Wilkerson, Logan Wilkerson, Austin Hammonds, Keegan Wilkerson, 11 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Judy (Bob) Smith, May (Odie) Comstock, Peggy (Gary) Milner, Chrissy (Todd) Leffler, Ronnie (Mary) Smothers, Scotty (Kim) Smothers, Ricky Smothers, several nieces and nephews, and a special nephew, Larry Smothers.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Mike Smothers, and Bobby Smothers, and also her sisters, Linda Dyer and Dolly Smothers. 

  Faye attended Shelbyville High School. She lived in Shelbyville her whole life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #766, and was a part of the Auxiliary for the Fraternal Order of Police #74.  Faye loved playing bingo and singing karaoke, but most of all, loved her family and friends, especially her four boys. 

  Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 12pm to 3pm at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 Funeral services will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Albert officiating.

  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Faye’s family.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home, at 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
