Tony V Witt

 Tony Vernon Witt, 94, of Fairland, passed away April 22, 2023 at Ashford Place Health Campus, in Shelbyville.

  He was born March 1, 1929 in Connersville to Luther Witt and Myrtle (Johnson) Witt. 

 Mr. Witt was a machinist at Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1987.

  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield.  Mr. Witt was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.

  His favorite hobby was refurbishing older bicycles.  He will always be remembered for his playing of the guitar and mandolin.

  He married Martha Ann (Parker) Witt on June 6, 1953 and she survives.

  Mr. Witt is also survived by his son, Tony M. (wife, Donna) Witt of Fountaintown, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, his sisters: Linda Jo (husband, Rodney) Blase; Barbara Lou (husband, Marion) Weston, and Pauline Back, and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sons, Gregory Witt, Darrell Witt, and Dana Witt.

  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Tommy Hensley officiating.

  Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery, with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations.

  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve the Witt family.
