Rolland E. Castner, 81, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at his residence with family by his side.
He was born June 27, 1938, in Indianapolis, to Rolland J. Castner and Essie Mae (Coyle) Castner.
On September 25, 1976, he married Frances (Aldriedge) Castner, and she survives.
Mr. Castner is also survived by his daughters, Celia Wright and Cheryl; his sister, Naomi Coyle; his son, Charles Cline; his best friend, Wayne Benefiel; 2 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons, and 1 great-granddaughter.
Mr. Castner was a truck driver and delivered newspapers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid bowler. He enjoyed word search, puzzle books, watching horse races and playing golf.
Visitation will be from Noon to 1 p.m, Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brandon Sutton officiating.
Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory Heroes of Honor and Glory section. Military rites will be conducted by local veteran’s organization.
