Robert Eugene Sloan

  Robert Eugene Sloan, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Ashford Place Health Campus.

  He was born August 29, 1933 in Linden IA to Charles Sloan and Ina (Rote) Harsh.

 Robert attended Chicago Vocational School.

  He served in the US Army and was in the Korean War.

  He had worked as a Glazier at PPG & Hoosier Glass for 40 yrs before retiring.

Robert loved his family.  He enjoyed going camping and doing carpenter work.  If he was outside he was happy.

He married Janeth Rae (Krouse) Sloan on September 18, 1956 and she survives.

Robert is also survived by his son, Robert Devoy Sloan (wife, Jennifer); daughter, Kathie Mullins; grand-daughter, Heather Cook (husband, Rob); great-grandson, Alexander Owens; sister-in-law, Carol Sloan.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Wilbert Harsh; sisters, Darlene Timmons, Norma Larson; brother, Galen Sloan.

  Funeral services will be at a later date.

  Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
