Robert Borneman Obituary

 

  Robert E. Borneman, 77, of Fairland, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at MHP Medical Center.

  He was born December 29, 1941 in Indianapolis.  He was the son of Charles T. Borneman and Betty J. (Newhouse) Borneman.

  Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda (Stanley) Borneman, his son, Robert A. (wife, Kimberly) Borneman of Shelbyville; his brother, Alan (wife, Sue) Borneman of Fishers; his grandson, Justin Robert Borneman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Bryan E. Borneman and his sister, Marlene Abner.

  He graduated from Tech High School.  Robert worked at GM as a machine repair specialist until retiring in 1999.

  Robert was raised in the Christian Church, and loved the Lord.

  He cherished his involvement as a member of the Mason’s, Shriner’s, and Scottish Rite for the past 50 years.

  Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany.  He loved his country and the flag.

  Some of his fondest memories are salmon fishing years ago.

  Robert was very witty and had a great sense of humor.  He had a compassionate heart for his beloved cats, Muffin, Bouncy and Shadow.  Spending time gardening and working with his flowers brought him great relaxation.  He could always be found in Antique Stores and Flea Markets.

  Robert enjoyed his trips to Florida with his wife.

  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m, Monday, December 16, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

  Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 the funeral home with Rev. Roger Gifford officiating.

  Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery, Fairland, IN.

  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Borneman family.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176
