Ned Rex Fitz

Ned Rex Fitz, 91, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Georgia.

  He was born December 15, 1929 in Louisville, KY to George Mason Fitz and Margaret (Tucker) Fitz.

  He married Jeanetta Katherine (Spurling) Fitz on June 2, 1950 and she preceded him in death on August 15, 2021.  They cherished 71 years of marriage together.

  Ned is survived by his children, Terry Fitz, Rhonda Milligan, and Bret Fitz, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his son-in-law and care-giver, Anthony Cook, and his sister, Bobbie Jean.

  Ned was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, Ned Fitz "Jr", and his sisters, Libby, Dora, Jane, and Betty Lou.

  He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose.  Ned was a carpenter and designer by trade.  He enjoyed doing mechanical work, drag racing, trap shooting, hunting, and fishing.  Ned was an Indiana State Champion in billiards. 

  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at the funeral home.

  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
