Mildred F. (Thomas) Feaster Platt, 90, of Shelbyville, IN, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Heritage House in Shelbyville. She was born July 11, 1929, in Ripley County, IN, to Loren E. and Christina G. (Johnson) Thomas. She was a 1947 graduate of Milroy High School and a graduate of Indiana Business College. She worked as a professional secretary for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling.
Mildred married Wayne L. Platt on February 28, 1975, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Michael H. (wife, Rose) Feaster; two stepsons, Larry (wife, Alicia) Platt and Rick Platt; 5 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Reverend Floyd (wife, Peggy) Thomas; her sister, Marlene Meyers; her sister-in-law, Eleanor Richards, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Rosemary Gahimer and Ruth Hall; her nephews, Jeff Gahimer and Kenny Gahimer; her step-daughter-in-law, Jo Platt; and her great-niece, Stephanie Gahimer.
Mildred was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church in Shelbyville, IN.
Private family visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Private family services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at the funeral home with Reverend Harvey Weaver officiating, followed by public graveside services in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, IN.
