Michael R. Brown

Michael R. Brown, 62, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. He was born Oct. 15, 1951, to Ezra Brown and Mary (Goodman) Brown in Johnson County. He married Carol Brown on Aug. 3, 1971, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1992. Survivors include daughter, Sandra Maners of Kokomo; stepson, Robert Erwin Sr. of Shelbyville; brother, Monte Brown of Shelbyville; sisters, Rose Meadows of Kentucky, Emma Owens of Kentucky and Gladys Wenger of Shelbyville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister.

Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver. He enjoyed horseback riding and fishing. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Robert Prather officiating. Burial will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens in Shelbyville.
