Matthew John Batkin, 29, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at MHP Medical Center.

He was born April 30, 1989 in Muskegon, MI to Robert and Dianna (Massey) Batkin.

Matthew is survived by his daughter, Riley Kay Batkin, son, Andrew John Batkin, sister, Heather Anne (Michael) Fort, brother, Michael Lee Batkin, aunts, Anita (Brad) Stansbury, and Ellen (Leon) Hilburn, uncles, Raymond Massey, and Daniel Massey, girlfriend, Nichole Stark, grandfather, Gerald Lee Batkin, grandmothers, Joyce Massey and Patricia Batkin.

Matthew worked at Honda Manufacturing on the main line.  He was a veteran of the US Marines.

He had a love for cars and working on them.  His children were his greatest joy.

He was working on obtaining his bachelor's degree in business management.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Andy Lee officiating as well as military rites conducted by local veteran's organizations.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Matthew's family.
