Mary 'Ruth" Clark Obituary

 Mary “Ruth” Clark, 85, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at MHP Medical Center.

  She was born November 1, 1935 in Logan, WV to Bernie Vickers and Madelyn (McMullen) Vickers.

  She graduated in 1953 from Logan High School, Logan WV.

  Ruth was a telephone operator and worked at several financial institutions.  Her favorite job was being an ultimate homemaker.

  She was a member of Blue Ridge Christian Union Church since 1984.  While living in Nashville, TN, she was a song writer and wrote upwards of 100 county western songs.  She also enjoyed playing guitar.

  Ruth collected pig figurines and Precious Moments figurines.  In her down time she enjoyed bird watching, gardening, doing crossword puzzles, and reading.   Her most precious times were spent with her grandchildren and loving family.

  Ruth married Stephen Clark on October 11, 1952 and was blessed to have celebrated 68 years of marriage together.

  She is survived by her husband, her son, David (Erin) Clark of Ft. Wayne; her daughters, Karen (Rod) Dickmann, and Doris (Kris) Martin, all of Shelbyville; her grandchildren, Ryan Piercy, Tiffany Junken, Jessica Fisher, Shawn Clark, Brandon Clark, and Katelynn Armstrong Pogue; and her ten great-grandchildren.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, and five brothers.

  Private family services will be observed on Saturday, January 30, 2021 with Dr. Robb Barlow officiating.

 Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory, Heroes of Honor and Glory section.

  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Ruth’s family.

  Memorial contributions may be given Blue Ridge Christian Union Church, 466 S 775 E, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
