Mary Alice Dewhurst, 59, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at MHP Medical Center.

She was born to Elmer Spencer and Hildreth (Franklin) Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by her son Benjamin Dewhurst (wife, Jessica); beloved grandchildren, Theodore and Penelope Dewhurst, and brother, David Spencer of Shelbyville.

Mary was a Christian and lifelong member of the Democratic Party. She had a love for science fiction movies. She was talented in making plastic canvas craft items. Her dog, Daisy, was very special to her.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Sharp officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
