James Edward "Jimi" Francis

James Edward “Jimi” Francis, 49, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his residence.

 He was born May 6, 1971 in Buffalo, NY.

 Jimi is survived by his mother, Marcia Thompson (husband, Vernon), his father, Edward Francis (wife, Carol), his brother, Edward James Francis, his step-brother, Eric Francis (wife, Sophie), his uncle James Notgrass (wife, Brenda), his cousins, Mendi Shirah, and Heather Caldwell, and his best friend, his beloved dog, Rufus.

  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beverley and Edwin Ewing and his grandfather, Retired Lt. Colonel James C. Notgrass.

  Jimi was an auto body mechanic.  He always enjoyed working on cars doing either body work or general maintenance.  During his time in Florida, he would frequently be found enjoying the water on the jet ski.  Jimi loved to cook and spend time with family and friends.

  Visitation will be Monday, October 26, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
