It is with profound sadness that the mother of Jacob “Jake” Franklin Welty, 28, formerly of Shelbyville, announces the passing of her beloved son. Jake was taken from us far too soon on Friday, April 29, 2022 at his residence in Nashville, TN.
He was born August 20, 1993 in Shelbyville to Christopher A. Welty and Eden E. (McColley) Welty.
Jake worked for The Turnip Truck, a trendy grocery store in Nashville, and was a tour guide for the Ghost of Nashville.
Jake loved playing guitar, video games, cooking, and participating in Ghost tours.
He is survived by his parents, his sisters, Emily Anderson, Audra Welty, and Chelsie Welty.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jay and Sue McColley, and his paternal grandfather, Vernon Welty.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m, Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Albert officiating.
Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
