Garner Ray Smith, 57, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at his residence.

He was born April 26, 1964 in Deer Park, TX to Herschel Smith and Doris (Ragon) Smith.

Ray is survived by his life partner, Gary Jackson, of Shelbyville, his sisters, Anitra Riddle (husband, Joe);  Teresa Iraggi (husband, Wayne); and Denise Ruiz (husband, David), his nieces and nephews, Nick Riddle, Curtis Riddle (wife, Micah), Rebbecca Sanders, Kevin Iraggi (wife, Sarah), Danyelle McKnight (husband, Timothy) Dexter Ruiz (husband, Johnathan), and Denaye Ruiz (partner, Jasmine) and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Brian Sullivan officiating.
