Eddie Ray Phelps, 53, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.
He was born April 24, 1967 in Somerset, KY to Raymond Phelps and Elva (Branson) Cobler.
Eddie is survived by his father, his sons, Brady Phelps (wife, Amber); Brandyn Phelps; and Bradley Phelps; his sister, Anita Akers (husband, Zak); his brother, Doug Phelps; his nieces and nephews, Cody Phelps, Alexis Phelps, Isaiah Phelps, Johana Sherron; and Nate Ridge. Eddie was looking forward to the arrival of his first grandson on August 29th.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elva and step-father, Donald Cobler.
He attended Shelbyville High School. Eddie was a skilled carpenter.
He was a member of the West Side Pub & Grub family. Eddie enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and fishing.
His most cherished times were spent with his boys and coaching them in sports.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Current COVID-19 guidelines will be observed.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with John Hartnett, Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in 2nd Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
