Dorothy “Dottie” Gahimer, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 23, 1931, to Roy Stevens and Goldie Mae (Kettler) Stevens in Shelbyville. She married Byron E. Gahimer on Dec. 24, 1950, and he preceded her in death in February of 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry(Dennis) Margason of Shelbyville and Gina Evans of New Whiteland; son, Randall Gahimer of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Cathy Gahimer of Evansville; two grandchildren, Jaime (husband, Heath) Reininga of St. Louis, Mo., and Christopher (wife, Dash) Gahimer of Evansville; and great-grandchild, Madison Reininga of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Steven Gahimer.
Mrs. Gahimer enjoyed gardening, collecting angels and spending time with family.
Private graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks and Sheila J. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Gahimer.
