William L. Redd, 59, of Shelbyville died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at his home. Born Dec. 19, 1949, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Francis E. and Laura Mae (Ballard) Redd. He married Rebecca Redd, and she survives. Other survivors include daughters, Kimberly Sheppard and Neeta Johnson, both of Shelbyville; sons Michael Redd, Francis Redd and Daniel Anderson, all of Shelbyville; brothers, Robert Redd, Jim Redd and Terry Redd, all of Shelbyville, Joe Redd of Rushville and Francis Redd of Hope; sisters Donna Burton and Ruth Elliott, both of Shelbyville; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and five children. Mr. Redd had been employed in manufacturing as a factory worker at BCI for 18 years and was a cattle farmer for 25 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy J. Redd officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Mount Auburn. Memorial donations may be made to the William Redd Memorial Fund in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S.
