William "Billy" Martin

William "Billy" Martin, 62, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Hickory Creek in Connersville, IN.

He was born October 25, 1956, in Shelbyville, to William E. Martin, Sr. and Shirley (Sharp) Martin.

Billy is survived by his mother, his sisters, Debra Ramsey (Warren C.) of Connersville; Diane Ponder of Sarasota; Elizabeth "Libby" Root of Greensburg; brother, William Edward Martin, Jr. (Sheila) of Everton; sister, Angela Sylvester of Connersville; and 14 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Billy was a member of Shelby Shifters.  He looked at his nieces and nephews like they were his own children.

Billy loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing.  He also enjoyed collecting cars, listening to music, and working with sound and lights for local bands.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, Friday, August 9, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Phillip Mahoney officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
