Wilbur Carew

August 3, 1932 — February 6, 2018

Wilbur Carew, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Major Hospital.

He was born August 3, 1932 to Russell Carew and Leona (Hinkle) Carew.  He married Vickie Pettit on June 18, 1981 and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1993.

Survivors include his step-son, Troy Mays; step-daughters, Teresa (Bobby) Haus and Laura Mays; 12 step-grandchildren; brother Gerald Carew; sister, Lorinda Carew; and care-giver, Delmar Walton, all of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 step-children, and 3 brothers;

Wilbur was employed in the wood shop at Indiana Cash Drawer.

He was a member of Bible Mission Church, and the Eagles.

He loved to watch IU Basketball and enjoyed getting out and driving through the country.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Bible Mission Church, 1011 S. Miller St., Shelbyville, with David Gooding officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Carew family.

Memorial contributions may be given to Bible Mission Church.
