Wanda Shepherd

Wanda Shepherd, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital.

She was born August 29, 1947 in Albany, KY to Carlie and Emma (Brown) Johnson.

Wanda was employed at Indiana Cash Drawer for 25 years before retiring.

She loved to play Bingo and was an avid reader.  Wanda was also a caretaker at heart and was always caring for her whole family.  Spending time and making memories with her family was her greatest joy.

She married Dalles Shepherd on October 9, 1967 and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2012.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Tammy (husband, Kenny) Phares and Regenia Evans, her grandchildren, Jonathan (wife, Megan) Phares, Justin Phares, Jessica (husband, Tony) Trask, Jennifer Phares, Chassidy Evans, Darrick Evans, Andrea Evans, Joshua Shepherd, and Timothy Shepherd, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jeffrey Shepherd, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Gary Evans officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
