Walter Clyde Trapp, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center.
He was born October 6, 1933, in Des Moines Iowa, to Arvid Trapp and Fern (Axtel) Trapp.
He married Nancy B. (Bowser) Trapp on August 26, 1989, and she survives.
Mr. Trapp is also survived by his daughter, Charlene Boggs; his son, Eric Trapp; his step-daughter, Lydia Williams; 8 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Pat Sindlinger.
He was a former biology teacher in Gibbon, MN, a long-haul trucker, and most recently was a security officer at Penske.
Mr. Trapp was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, only 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a given time. Funeral home staff will monitor social distancing and the number of people in the building.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Otter Creek Cemetery in Jennings County, IN.
