Virginia Tucker

Virginia Tucker, 91, of Boggstown passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Ashford Place.

She was born February 21, 1931 in Shelbyville to John Elbert Cousins and Addie (Tucker) Cousins.

Virginia was a member of Fairland Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening and reading.  Virginia had a caring heart and loved taking care of others.  Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She worked as a caregiver until her retirement, after which, she continued giving care and comfort to family members in need.

She married William Tucker on March 16, 1985, and he survives.  She is also survived by her son, James Michael Woods of Shelbyville, grandsons, James Michael (Leah) Woods, of Hebron, IN, Cody Lee (Kathryn) Woods of Shelbyville, her granddaughter, Brandy Leighann Woods, her great-grandchildren, Ava, Jacob, Wesley, and Jackson, and her step-sons, David (Linda) Tucker, Dennis Tucker, and Tim (Karen) Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Melodie Woods, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Blue Ridge Cemetery officiated by Pastor Greg Albert.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Virginia's family.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
