Virginia Marcella (Ginnie) Huhnke

June 2, 1929 — January 15, 2013

Virginia Marcella ("Ginnie") Huhnke, 83, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Rosalie (Huhnke) Lane (husband, Richard Neil) in Wilmington, who survive.

She was born June 2, 1929, to Walter T. and Edith (Smith) Perry in Shelbyville, Indiana. On June 30, 1948 Virginia married Stanley Harland Huhnke in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior amongst her earthly family and a crowd of heavenly citizens cheering her into His presence!  She so often told of when she met Jesus and knew He was really real.  She became a prayer warrior and was unceasing until her entire family got to know Jesus too.

Through the years she was a faithful member of Evangelical Methodist Church of Shelbyville, Hope Chapel of Hermosa Beach, California, Calvary Baptist Church of Wilmington and finally Fellowship of Praise Church of Clarksville, Ohio.

As a young woman, Virginia worked at the Elks Club & the Kennedy Carliner in Shelbyville.  As a young mother, she worked at the Italian Village restaurant in Indianapolis which catered to many celebrity customers.  In later years, she worked at her daughter's business (Avian & Exotic Animal Clin Path Labs) and helped to develop it into the first lab dedicated to all exotic species nationally.

Other survivors include son Mark Huhnke of Torrance, California; grandchildren, Richard A. Lane (wife, Becky) and Susan (Lane) Billingsley of Wilmington, Brian Wesley Huhnke (wife, Shaunna) of Enola, Pennsylvania, Stanley Joseph ("Joey") Huhnke and Johnny Huhnke of Atlanta, Georgia; six great grandchildren: Quimbee Lane, Izaia Billingsley, Trevor Billingsley, Harley Lane, Taliah Billingsley and Wesley Huhnke.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Stanley H. Huhnke, mother and father Edith and Walter Perry, five brothers and sisters: Evelyn (Perry) Hauk, Susie (Perry) Stainbrook, Raymond Perry, Walter O. Perry, Eugene Perry, and a son, Brian Randolph Huhnke, a grandchild Nathan Lamar, and great grandchild Otis Asher Lane.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, and from 10 am to 1 p.m on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Evangelical Methodist Church, 268 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, with the funeral following at 1 p.m.  The Revs. Jim Coulston and Matt Morgan will be officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
