Toby A. Parks's Obituary

Toby A. Parks, 63, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Major Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1948, in Union City, he was the son of Robert F. and Peggy (Moore) Parks. He was married to Mary Brown for 19 years, and she survives. Other survivors include sons, Jeff Parks of Winchester, John Scharf of Manchester, N.Y., and Jim Scharf of New York; daughters, Dawn Beisner of Greenville, Ohio, and Brandy Bercaw of Union City, Ohio; brother, Robert Parks Jr.; sisters, Diana Parks and Jan Parks-Brown; and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Parks was a supervisor at Shares Inc. He set several school records in basketball at Union City High School. Toby enjoyed writing and attending Victory Fellowship Church of God. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Victory Fellowship Church of God, 2535 S. Miller St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Joplin officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Union City Cemetery in Union City. Memorial contributions honoring Toby may be made to Shelby County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 844, Shelbyville IN 46176. An online guest book may be signed at www.murphyparks.com .
