Timothy Grant Slaughter, 52, of Shelbyville died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South in Greenwood. Born Nov. 20, 1957, in Arvada, Colo., he was the son of Albert Richard Slaughter and Joy Lou(Hughes) Phelps. He married Nancy Jo Krise on Nov. 5, 1977, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Jason(wife, Amy) Slaughter and Aaron (wife, Misty) Slaughter, both of Shelbyville; daughter, Dacia (husband, Ryan) DeVinney of Hagerstown; brothers, Kirk Slaughter and Ric Slaughter, both of California; and grandchildren, Gillian, Brandon and Caylin. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Sherri Slaughter; and mother and stepfather, Glen Phelps. Mr. Slaughter was a truck driver for Crete Carriers. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Keith Adkins officiating.
