Thomas "Tom" L. Walton

Thomas "Tom" L. Walton, 66, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at his residence.

He was born June 22, 1957 in Rushville, IN. to Denzil Otto Walton Sr. and Martha (Rhodes) Walton.

He served in the United States Army.

Thomas worked at Knauf for 28 years before retiring.

Thomas loved going fishing and riding his wheelchair around town visiting his friends.  He enjoyed going to Grandma's Pancake House.  One of his passions was being around family, having family gatherings and being with his children and grand children.  Everyone knew him as a jokester.

He married Jean (Foster) Walton on October 18, 1980 and she survives.

Thomas is also survived by his children, Curtis (wife, Tamara) Walton, Eric (wife, Ashley) Walton, Michael (fiancé, Rebecca Hurley) Walton, Amber (husband, John) Jines; siblings, Teresa (husband, Jeff) Patrick, Linda (husband, Paul) Stevens, Sue (husband, Don) Decker, Mary McDonald, Denzil (wife Sharon) Walton Jr.; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Denzil and Martha Walton; sister, Jane Jones; brother-in-law Henry Jones; brother, Tim Walton.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 7925 Huff Street, Acton, IN. 46259.
