Terrill L. ‘Terry’ Rouse, 77, of Franklin passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on October 3, 1948, in Indianapolis, the son of Grover Rouse and Maerose (Watters) Rouse.
He married Kathleen M. (Rosenfeld) Rouse on December 12, 1966, and she survives. They shared 59 loving years of marriage together.
Terry is also survived by his son, Stephen Rouse; his daughter, Jennifer (husband, Robert, Jr) Fyke; his grandchildren, Stephen (wife, Brooke) Rouse, Johnathon Rouse, Meredith Rouse, Kayleigh Fyke, Judith Rouse, Simon Rouse, and Elliot Rouse; his sister, Rosanne Howell; his nephews, Chris (wife, Lisa) Bright, Glen ‘Willy’ Bright, and Matthew Rouse; and his nieces, Andrea Hignite and Leslie Rodriquez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Judith Bright, and his brothers-in-law, Oscar Bright and Earl Howell.
Terry was a tool and die maker. He finished out his lengthy career with Wilds Tool & Die in Indianapolis. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin and was a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #822. His favorite times were spent with his family and making memories with his loved ones. Terry enjoyed reading, studying history and anything involving the outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed listening to music and was even talented enough to be self-taught when it came to playing the guitar.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Father Mike Keucher officiating.
Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery Fund, in care of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, IN 46131, or the Humane Society of Johnson County, 3827 Graham Road, Franklin, IN 46131.
