Tamela J. Richmond, 69, of Brookville, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.
She was born February 20, 1957, in Batesville, IN to Franklin D. Greene and Gail (Simmonds) Greene.
Tammy attended Shelbyville High School and later earned her GED. She worked for many years in the service industry, spending the majority of them as a convenience store clerk. She was a member of the Brookville American Legion Auxiliary, Post 77 and a former member of Brookville Eagles F.O.E. #1129. Tammy had a love for flowers and tending to her garden. She enjoyed spending time at the river, boating and tubing. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, going out to dinners and relaxing with a cold beer.
She married Gary W. Richmond on March 24, 1998 and he survives. They shared 28 loving years of marriage together.
She is also survived by her son, John F. West; brothers, Danny (wife, Barb) Greene, Johnny Greene, Roger (wife, Kelly) Greene and Michael Greene (Bert Tutrow); step-daughters, Kimberly (husband, Kevin) Claypool and Lauren (husband, Mark) Prifogle; grandchildren, Madison, Lillian, Andrew, Mallorie, Carrighan, Finley, Jude, Davis and Lydia; great-grandson, Carson; several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bill Elliot; brother, David White and grandson, Hunter Hubbard.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 11 am to 2 pm at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home with her son-in-law, Mark Prifogle officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, IN at a later date.
