Stephen Glaub

Stephen Glaub, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home in Milton, Kentucky.

He was born December 14, 1942 in Fairfield, IN to James and Pauline (Watler) Glaub. He married Cheryl (King) Glaub on August 3, 1974.

Stephen is survived by his Wife, Cheryl Glaub; daughter, Lori (Tony) Prather; grandchildren Jason and Jenna Prather; and his sister, Candice (Sal) Elia of Lancaster California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodney Glaub, of Boca Palm, Fl.

Stephen graduated from Manilla high school in 1960.  He was a U.S. Army veteran in the Vietnam War.  Serving with the 25 ^th inf. division, 1968-1970, and earned two bronze stars with oak leaf clusters.   Mr. Glaub had owned and operated Glaub's Tire & Auto Service for 39 years.  He retired from owning his own business in 2005. He was also a member of Shelbyville's F&AM (Masonic lodge), VFW, and the American Legion.

Mr. Glaub's hobbies included boating, and spending time with family and friends at the cabin on the Ohio River. He also enjoyed spending his winters at their home in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. In May, Steve had the opportunity to go with the Collier- Lee County Honor Flight to Washington D.C. While there four of his Vietnam buddies greeted him and spent the day with him.

Visitation will from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Robert Prather officiating. The burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
