Sharon Gayle (Wuellner) Baker of Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully, at her home on May 6, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Sharon was born on November 17, 1936 in Milan, Indiana, to Ralph Henry Wuellner and Dorothy Mae (Beagle) Wuellner. Sharon graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1955, and soon after married the absolute love of her life, Francis Dale Baker. Fran and Sharon shared 69 years together, raising three daughters Charlotte Maas, Sherry (Todd) Vandeventer and Teresa (Dan) Willis.

While living in Shelbyville, Sharon worked at Delekamp Cleaners for several years, then in 1968, Fran and Sharon set out on a new adventure with their young family, when they purchased Linton Beer Sales and moved to Linton, Indiana. Sharon was the ultimate bookkeeper and office manager and they soon took ownership of Advance Supply Company as well. Together they enjoyed meeting and serving the Greene and Sullivan County area (and beyond) for the next twelve years. All the while she was the guiding light for her family.

Their next chapter took Sharon and Fran to Ft. Myers, Florida, where Sharon worked at Community Bank of the Islands, and also owned and operated Professional Cleaning Services in Ft. Myers, until her retirement.

Sharon was devoted to her family and always supported them in all their activities and endeavors.

There was never a doubt she enjoyed every parade, ball game, 4-H project, prom, wedding and birth. She enjoyed reading, camping and hosting her family for holidays or just a fun day by the pool. Always with a smile and a reassuring word, she was simply the best and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Among those who greeted her in heaven were her husband Fran, her parents and her sister, Walda Wuellner. Those who will be lovingly remembering Sharon are her daughters; her half-sisters Marcia King and Cheryl Wuellner; her step-daughters Faith (Charles) Hawk, Barbara (Tim) Rice and Dale Sue (Bob) Glass; her adored grandchildren Shellie Robbins, Amber (Nic) Bowling, Kaitlyn Brochin, Thad (Jessica) Vandeventer, Garrett (Kelsie) Vandeventer, Jessi Bedwell, KC Burns and MacKenzi Willis, and step-grandchildren Mendy (Chris) Tarwater, Bryan (Rachel) Hawk, Cari (Matt) Fresleben, Rob (Andrea) Glass and Katie (Josh) Miller; 25 great-grandchildren (and one on the way) and one great, great-granddaughter. Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who were loved like family.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, Indiana.
