Ruth A. Bowman, 69, of Boggstown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

She was born Dec. 26, 1944, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Elmer and Clara (Artmier) Heppner. She married Marvin Bowman on Aug. 6, 1966, and he survives.

Other survivors include sons, Michael Bowman and wife, Trisha, of Boggstown, and James Bowman and wife, Cynthia, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Bowman of Greenwood; grandsons, Tyler, Dylan Bryan, Austin and Aaron; granddaughter, Dakota; and brothers, Fred Heppner and wife, Thelma, and John Heppner and wife, Elaine, both of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by two sons and a brother.

Mrs. Bowman graduated from Triton High School in 1963. She was employed as a secretary for Brown & Bruner Law Office. She had her own house cleaning service for eight years and retired in 2007 from Triton Elementary School where she was a custodian.

She attended Crossroad Community Church in Shelbyville. Reading and gardening were her favorite pastimes. She always enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Crossroad Community Church, 425 Progress Parkway.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Andy Lee officiating.

Interment will be at Boggstown Cemetery.
