Russell James Pryor, 71, of Cumberland, IN, passed away July, 11, 2026, at his residence.

He was born November 29, 1954, in Indianapolis, IN to Benjamin Fredrick Pryor, Sr. and Grace Olive (Padgett) Pryor.

Russell found his greatest joy being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved to be outdoors where he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and appreciated the beauty of nature. He had a passion for cooking and was happiest when he was able to share his meals. He enjoyed his friendship with his poker friends and the conversations they shared with each other. Russell was an avid Colts fan.

He is survived by his daughters, Callye Russell, Christina Pryor and Laurie (husband, Kyle) Humphreys; son, John Pryor; grandchildren, Curtis (wife, Maggie) Pryor, Hope Johnson, Gracie Humphreys, Hunter Humphreys, Avry, Audree, Brayden and Natasha; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Faith, Amelia Jo and Sophia Ann, one soon to be announced and Robin Constanza; sister, Peggy (husband, Tom) Jackson; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and good friend, Willie Chase.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Benjamin Fredrick Pryor, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on July 25, 2026  from 4:00PM to 6:30PM  at Beech Grove Loyal Order of Mosse Lodge 1883  at 3320 Emerson Ave.  Beech Grove, Indiana 46107.
