Robert D. Taylor

Robert Taylor, 74, of Shelbyville died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center in Waldron. Born in Shelbyville on Nov. 8, 1936, he was the son of Edward and Myrtle (Watts) Taylor. He married Gayle Hampton on Sept. 26, 1980, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Debbie (Carl) Jeffries of Ozark Mo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a son, Jeff Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He had been employed as a security officer. Graveside military rites will be conducted at a future date at the Heroes of Honor and Glory Veterans Cremation Garden within Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
