Robert "Jim" Collins

Robert "Jim" Collins, 80, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Heritage House, Shelbyville.

He was born November 18, 1938 in Mt. Comfort, IN, to Homer Oral Collins and Lois C. (Leary) Collins.

Jim married Lula Pearl (Glenn) Collins on October 13, 1984, and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Becky (Tim) Wells; son, Kenneth Collins (Tara Burkett); daughter, Roberta (Kyle) Dilley; daughter, Rochelle (Craig) Lindsey; step-son, Walter (Ellen) Moore; step-daughter, Delva (Monty) Chapman; step-daughter, Deborah (Ben) Taylor; step-daughter, C. Diane Riley; step-son, Larry Moore; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 grandchildren, Audrey Moore and Rodney Riley.

Jim graduated from Mt. Comfort High School.  He retired from Schreiber Lumber Company after 50 years of service.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield.  He enjoyed working in the garden and fixing cars.  Jim always had a smile on his face and kept a positive attitude.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with Tommy Hensley officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
