Rita Scroggham, 53, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 29, 1961, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Charles and Edith Mae Myers Scroggham. Rita is survived by her daughters, Candy Carson, Lisa Carson, and Marcella Carson, all of Indianapolis; a son, Kenneth Pruitt of Indianapolis; a brother, Charles Scroggham; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, and two grandchildren. Rita was a homemaker. She found joy and serenity in listening to music. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
