Rickey Dale Myer

Rickey Dale Myer, 67, Shelbyville, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 1, 1947, to Forrest Dale Myer and Clara Louise (Metz) Myer Mann in Shelbyville.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Myer; son, Bret Adkins Myer of Shelbyville; daughter, Alana Adkins; granddaughter, Kyrsten Lux; sister, Jayne Whitaker of Rushville; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stephen Myer.

Mr. Myer was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army and retired with 26 years of service.

He had many hobbies including painting, cooking, karaoke, gardening, golfing and running marathons.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Anthony J. Schommer, M. Div., officiating.

Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Myer.
