Richard L. Moore, 79, of Shelbyville died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at his residence. Born May 13, 1932, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Orite and Eva (Benfield) Moore. He married Lessie Beal on June 7, 1969, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2010. Survivors include sons, Robert Kenneth (Mary) Burnine of Georgia, Donald Burnine of Indianapolis and Ronald (Teresa) Burnine, Dennis (Carla) Burnine and Roddy (Sue) Moore, all of Shelbyville; daughters, Joyce (David) Watson and Jean Sullivan, both of Shelbyville; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; four sisters; and a daughter, Margarite Burnine. Mr. Moore was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He had been a factory worker in manufacturing, retiring in 1996 from KT Corp. Richard enjoyed woodworking. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Capt. Shannon Benner officiating. Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions honoring Richard may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Salvation Army, in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville IN 46176.
