Richard D "Dick" Pettit

Richard D."Dick"  Pettit, 72, of Shelbyville, died at his residence on Sunday, July 29, 2012.  He was the son of Thaddeus F. Pettit and Mary Elizabeth (Baker) Pettit.  He married Carol D Parker and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Shannon D Pettit of Hampton, VA and Shawn R. Pettit of Shelbyville.  Other survivors include his sisters, Mary Ann Barton of Shelbyille, and brother, Tony Pettit of Shelbyville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Patricia Jones and Vicki Lynn Larew and brother Thad Pettit, Jr.

Richard enjoyed playing guitar.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 136 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

A causual gathering will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 413 E. South Street, on Friday, August 3rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to celebrate Richard's life.  Inurnment will be at Miller Cemetery.
