Randa  Covert, 65 of Shelbyville, IN passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South Greenwood I

Born July 12, 1950 in Shelbyville, IN, She was the daughter of Talva "Mac" Y ealey and Carol  (Parker) Pettit.

Randa is survived by her son, Nathan L (wife, Marty) McClure, Flat Rock, IN, daughters, Nichole J (husband, Todd) Hellums, Greenfield, IN, and Melissa C Cook, Osgood, IN, sister, Kathy (husband, John) Byrnes, Shelbyville, IN, Grand children, Timothy L (companion, Chelsea Coffey) Higgins III, Greenfield, IN, Taylor K Higgins, Shelbyville, IN, Brady L McClure, Flat Rock, IN, Tyler Hellums, and Regan Hellums, Flat Rock, IN, Great-grandchildren,  Eleanor "Ellie" Jean Arlene Cloud, Timothy "Tatum" L Higgins IV.

Mrs. Covert was preceded in death by her parents, son, Neal McClure, and brother, Anthony "Mac" Yealey.

Randa was born and raised in Shelby County, her entire life.  She attended the graduating class of 1968 at Southwestern High School.  She retired from McClure Concrete in 2012.Randa devoted her whole life to her children, grandchildren, family and friends.  She never knew a stranger.  Randa enjoyed being with her family, cooking, in which she was an avid cook, gardening, and flowers.  Her most important thing in life was her family.

She was a member of Hope's Point Church in Shelbyville.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from  4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 10:00 AM  at the funeral home with Pastor Edwin Mohr officiating.

Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery  .
