Phyllis A. Fuel

Phyllis A. Fuel, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at Willows of Shelbyville.

She was born March 27, 1941, in Russell County, KY to Ervil Trimble and Clara Marie (Sowder) Trimble.

Phyllis graduated from Southwestern Junior/Senior High School with the class of 1959.  She was proud to be a member of the first graduating class at that school.  She was a member of Flat Rock Christian Church.  She worked at Spenax and Shelbyville News for many years.  She then retired in October of 2009 from the Shelby County Sheriff's Department where she was a civil clerk.  Phyllis had a love for reading and enjoyed mystery novels by Danielle Steele and Sue Grafton. She also had a love for music with her favorite kind being southern gospel. Some of her favorite shows were comedy's which included Golden Girls and Three's Company.   She never missed a chance to go shopping, especially to all the rummage and yard sales.  She was an avid Elvis Presley fan, enjoyed working crosswords and word searches.    Phyllis was a hard working woman who loved with all her heart.  She was grateful for all the friendships and relationships that impacted her life.

She is survived by her son, John (wife, Michelle) Fuel; her grandsons, Landon Fuel and Mason Fuel; her sister, Geraldine Heuer; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Trimble and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Trimble and brother-in-law, Steven Heuer.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Ebersold officiating.

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
