Orval Dale Steele

Orval Dale Steele, 78, of Fountaintown died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Indianapolis. Born Jan. 30, 1930, in Benham, he was the son of Basil Lewis Steele and Eva Fern Welch-Steele. He married Emma Neace on Nov. 12, 1955, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2000. Survivors include his son, Randie Wayde Steele of Shelbyville; daughter, Tina (husband, Matthew) Huesman of Fairland; brother, Arthur Steele of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Galdy Hayse of Benham and JoAnn Brinson of Versailles; grandchildren, Misty Dawn Steele, Randie Dale Steele, Crystal Huesman and Alisha Huesman; and great-grandchildren, Lacie Allen and Emalee Allen. He also was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert Steele and Russell Steele; and sister, Rita Demaree. Mr. Steele had been employed at Naval Avionics for 33 years, retiring in 1985 as a fire control engineer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Steele was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
