Michael W Yates

Michael W. Yates, 66, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his residence.

He was born September 30, 1955 in Indianapolis to George E. Yates and Leerie (Smith) Yates.

Mike was employed at Delta Faucet in Greensburg for 25 years.  He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings.  He enjoyed wood working, watching NASCAR, and playing bingo.  His greatest pride were his grandchildren.  Mike was always willing to give a free helping hand to anyone in need.

He married Diana Simmonds on October 16, 1976, and she survives. He is also survived by his sons Cory (Jenna) Yates of IL; and Branden Yates of Shelbyville, his grandchildren, Lauren and Ethan; his brothers, Richard Yates, of Greencastle, and George Yates of Great Falls, MT; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Judith Ann Yates, and Patricia Feney.

A celebration of life ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Mike's family.
