Michael Gene "Mike" Tennell, 63, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 14, 1951 to Harold E and Martha (Johnson) Tennell.
He married Melody Kuhn on Dec. 4, 1970 and she survives. Other survivors include his parents; son, Scott, wife Jennifer, Tennell of Franklin, IN; daughter, Carrie, husband, Curtis, Smithson of Orange Park, FL.; grandsons, Devin Tennell, Zachary Tennell, and Chad Tennell all of Orange Park, FL.; granddaughter, Kalyn Bryant of Franklin, IN; brothers, Andy, wife, Theresa, Tennell of Edinburgh, IN and Tim, wife, Lori, Tennell of Franklin, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tennell was a member of Bengal Christian Church. He was a former member of Indiana Bass Club. He was active in the Sunday Morning Bass Tournaments at Lake Allatoona, GA. for several years just prior to moving back to Indiana
He was employed at Roytech in Woodstock, Ga. for 26 years as a maintenance supervisor before retiring in May 2014.
Mr. Tennell was a veteran of the National Guard.
His pleasures were family - friends - and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Mr. Tennell, may be made to Bengal Christian Church, 3534 S Shelby 750 W, Franklin, IN 46131.
Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Doug Adams officiating.
Funeral directors, Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Tennell.
