Michael Wayne Harmon, 68, of Columbus IN., passed away Friday June 16, 2023.

He was born August 2, 1954 in Shelbyville, IN. to William "Bill" Harmon and Barbara Jean (Bogeman) Lawrence.

Michael attended Shelbyville High School.

He served in the Army and National Guard 766.

Michael worked at Indiana State Highway, Detroit Steel and Rightway Fastners in Columbus, IN.

He was a member of VFW, Eagles Lodge, and American Legion.

Michael loved to fish, and go bowling with his family.  He had a love for nascar.

Michael is survived by his son Scott Harmon (wife, Erin); brother, Harry Harmon; granddaughter, Amelia Harmon; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Greg and Jeff Harmon; sister, Debbie Clark; niece, Jessie Hernandez.

A Celebration of Life will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN., 46176 with military rites conducted by our local Veteran organizations.

Burial will be at a later date at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
