Melvin Morrison, 92, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.

He was born March 27, 1922, to Matthew and Martha Alice (Miller) Morrison in Hartsville, Missouri. He married Lilly Morrison, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Bonita Coffey of Shelbyville, Beverly (Walter) Corn of  Tennessee, Bernice Morrison of Shelbyville and Lois Crouch of Shelbyville; son, MJ Morrison of Shelbyville; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and his mother; by daughter Kathy Reneau and by son Bruce Morrison.

Melvin worked at Great States Lawnmowers and in the lawnmower industry.

He enjoyed the food and fellowship at the Chaperral Cafe and loved fox hunting.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory at 703 S. Harrison Street in Shelbyville.

Services will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, and will also be at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, with Pastor Gene Morrison officiating.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Park and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Morrison.
