Mary F Snapp

Mary F. Snapp, 90, of Shelbyivlle, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at Heritage House Convalescent Center. Born Nov. 24, 1917, in Pittsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Jerome and Frances (Gitzen) Baldesberger. She married Harold C. Snapp and he preceed her in death. Survivors include her cousin, Andrew Baldesberger of Pittsburg, Pa. She also was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Snapp had been a registered nurse at Major Hospital for 18 years. She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a nurse at Camp Mead, Md., and attained the rank of lieutenant. Mrs. Snapp was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Anne's Alter Society and the 93rd Evacuation Hospital Club, and had been a member of the American Legion since 1947. No public visitation will be observed. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Father Leon Reuter officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
