Mary Jane Brown

Mary Jane Brown, 79, of Greensburg passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at Aspen Place Health Care in Greensburg.

She was born July 18, 1941 in Cambridge City to Clarence Lawrence and Hazel (Brook) Lawrence.

Mary will be greatly missed by her husband of 59 years, Charles Brown, her daughters, Penny (Rick) Brown-Wood of Greensburg; and Lisa (Merle) McFadden of Florence; her sons, Tim (Sally) Brown of Freeport; and Bryan (Tara) Brown of Greensburg, her siblings, Gene (Bev) Lawrence of Tipton; Phyllis Doyle of Connersville; Carolyn Hayes of Cambridge City; Kay (Bob) Ripberger of Arlington; and Bobby (Dorothy) Lawrence of Arcadia, FL. and her sister-in-law, Millie McVey of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Joe Lawrence, her sister, Betty Purvis, her brothers-in-law, Bob Brown, Jim Brown and his wife, Mary, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orville and Adeline Brown.

She graduated from Greensburg High School.  Mary retired from housekeeping after many years of service at various extended living care facilities.

She enjoyed reading romance novels, and coloring in adult coloring books.  Her hobbies also included doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime, especially during the holidays and at special family events.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend Seth Taylor officiating.  Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.
