Mariah Rosales

Mariah LaChelle Rosales, 31, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at MHP Medical Center.

She was born November 13, 1990 in Beech Grove to Raymond Cox and Christina (Perry) Montgomery.

Mariah graduated from Shelbyville High School in 2009. She attended IU Bloomington, Coastal Carolina Community College, and Ivy Tech Community College in Columbus where she graduated with a degree in Human Services.

Mariah was a vibrant soul. She radiated love and laughter and left a light wherever she went. She had a heart bigger than this world could hold and the mark she made will ripple out for all of eternity. Growing up she enjoyed playing volleyball and going camping. As she got older, she developed a love for cooking and traveling with her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music and being outdoors. She went on to work for AYS for 10 years and established the program for Shelbyville Central Schools as well as several schools in Central Indiana. She had a heart for the children she serviced and it brought her great joy to interact with them as they grew beyond AYS. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her three beautiful children, Kobe, Kyleiha, and Kailen Rosales.

She married Carlos Rosales on January 2, 2010 and he survives.

Mariah is also survived by her father Raymond Cox, Jr., her mother Christina Montgomery (Perry), her step-father, Ronald Montgomery, brother, Dominque Cox (Kinley Clary); sister, Porscha Cox, brother, Zaire Jones, sisters, Drucilla Cox, Angie Parish (Quinn); Brandy Montgomery, Lanna Fulharty, brother, John Montgomery, sister, Amy Montgomery-Eddraouy, (Muhammad), several nieces and nephews, maternal grandparents Roger Perry (Brenda), and Linda Perry, paternal grandfather, Raymond Cox, Sr., maternal great-grandparents, Thomas and Gloria Caudill, mother-in-law, Lourdes Rosales and father-in-law, Javier Rosales, brothers-in-law, Javier Rosales (Whitney), and Alan Rosales, sister-in-law, Nataly Rosales (Tyler Thompson), uncles, Michael Perry (Kelly), Billy Caudill (Natasha), Demetrius Smith (Melissa), and aunt, Penny "Dru" Cox. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kameron Cox, grandmother, Drucilla P. Griffin-Cox, great-grandmother, Ina Ruth Gosney.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jose Rivera officiating.
