Lucille M. (Lemire) Rowland

Lucille M. "Lou" Rowland, 86, of Morristown died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Morristown Manor in Morristown. Born Dec. 13, 1924, in Marquette, Mich., she was the daughter of Camille and Stella (Giguere) Lemire.She married William Rowland, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Roberta (husband, Jerry) Bennett of Greenfield; stepsons, William (wife, Diane) Rowland Jr. of Houston, Texas, and L. Ross Rowland of Muncie; stepdaughter, Janet (husband, Mike) Asher of Shelbyville; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Lemire of Joliet, Ill., and Camille Lemire Jr. of Marquette; and sister, Rosemary Martin of Dalton, Ill. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathleen McDonald; and a brother, George Lemire. Mrs. Rowland was a 1942 graduate of Baraga Parochial High School in Marquette. She was a homemaker, floral designer and also worked in the retail business. Mrs. Rowland was an excellent seamstress and loved spending time with her family and friends, leaving them with many special memories. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Father Leon Reuter officiating. Private family graveside services will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
