Loretta Burford

Loretta Burford, 90, of Lawrence died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in Indianapolis. Born Oct. 16, 1918, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Robert and Samantha (Bolton) Struk. She married Walter James Burford, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1983. Survivors include her granddaughters, Kelly (husband, Michael) Clark of Fishers, Terry Stephanoff of Brownsburg and Connie (husband, Jeff) Smith of Le Claire, Iowa; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Patsy Hammond; three sisters; and one brother. Mrs. Burford was a former Shelbyville resident. She had been employed at KCL for 35 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating.
